Practical information

Your tutors need to deliver two 10-15 minute tutorial sessions in the Spring term to take part. These sessions will involve students:

  • Watching videos of inspirational university students or apprentices

  • Completing surveys and short maths tests

1. LETTERS

[BEFORE SPRING HALF TERM]

We will provide a letter to be sent out to parents (for pupils in Years 8-11) or given directly to Year 12-13 pupils. 

We will also set-up a data sharing agreement (DSA) to ensure all pupil data is protected.

We will provide an excel template which needs to be filled with data relating to the pupils in Years 8-13.

3. TUTOR BRIEFINGS

[AFTER HALF TERM]

For every tutor, we will send a personalised briefing containing two simple session plans which will be take between 10-15 minutes to deliver. Tutors will need to print the surveys (2-sides of A4) for each session as these will be labelled with pupil names.

4. SESSIONS DELIVERED

[AFTER HALF TERM]

Your tutors simply deliver the sessions:

  • Session 1: Between 4 March 15 March

  • Session 2: Between 25 March and 5 April

The tutorials can happen on any day of the week but should be three weeks apart.

5. DATA RETURN

Pupils will complete a number of surveys and tests in the tutorial sessions. These need to be collected and returned to the SOMEONE LIKE ME team either by:

  • Emailing scanned copies (preferred)

  • Recorded delivery

The school will also be requested to complete a data template showing:

  • Pupil attendance over the second half of the Spring term.

  • A rating of each pupil’s effort over the Spring term (if you collect this)
